The Art of Blog

In my opinion, having your own blog is a step up from sharing content on social media. Don't get me wrong — I use social media too. I’m sure everyone has been a victim of the pressure that comes from social media. The pressure to change our style, to post a certain way, you know? But with the saturation of content creation, I do feel the social media space has become so competitive that many artists, designers, creators, creatives, are feeling somewhat invisible, at least to me. Maybe some prefer it that way — maybe others want to be acknowledged. But with a blog? You have the complete power to choose whether you want to be invisible or not. You don't work within the constraints of the algorithm but within the constraints of your own mind. That is why, when I was creating my portfolio — rather than venting to my notes app — I decided I could simply lay out all of my thoughts, feelings, and observations on any given day without any pressure of fitting them into any aesthetic but my own. You don't worry about engagement or going viral. You simply just do. And that, in itself, is quite liberating. It is almost like you are intentionally embracing the beauty of being invisible — the idea that choosing to be unseen is itself a form of creative freedom.

At some point, will people find this? Yeah, probably. But will I care? Not really.

This blog, this website, is my own. What are they going to do? Report me to Meta? Try me. This website is designed specifically for me and no one else. No competition but myself.

And you know what Mike Tyson said:

The only competition you have is yourself
