Animal shelters play a crucial role in rescuing, caring for, and finding homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals. Despite their important mission, many shelters face challenges related to efficiency, resource management, and adoption rates. Issues such as overcrowding, insufficient resources, and ineffective marketing strategies can hinder a shelter’s ability to provide optimal care and find permanent homes for animals.

I observed many people paying more attention to younger animals at my local shelter during their visit, decreasing of chances of elderly animals getting adopted.

Problem

My response to the problem of older animals often overshadowed by younger animals at the shelter during peak visitor hours is to intervene by designing an app that is dedicated to elderly animals where the user experience are curated by the ideal character traits of the ideal companion based on their lifestyle through the concept of digital matchmaking.
